Ryan Ravens is the CEO of Accelerate Cape Town. With an extensive entrepreneurial background, Ryan previously played a strategic role at Blue IQ Investment Holdings which became the Gauteng Growth and Development Agency. He was also the lead project manager for the FIFA 2010 World Cup.
Gavin is the Chairman of Accelerate Cape Town. He is also the Chairman of AVI, an executive director of Coronation Investments and Trading Limited and a non executive director of a number of other companies
Ashoek is General Counsel at Media24. He is an attorney and has worked previously for the Western Cape Provincial Government.
Crispin was until recently MD of the Retail Mass Cluster of Business at Old Mutual and has now started his own business. He is a member and the previous Chairperson of the Old Mutual Foundation and serves on various Boards including Foodbank South Africa, UCT GSB and Frontier Rare Earths.
Gavin is the managing partner of Webber Wentzel’s Cape Town office, serves on the firm’s management board and specialises in Insurance, Shipping & Transport law. Gavin currently chairs the Cape Chapter of the Maritime Law Association of South Africa and has 20 years of experience in the maritime legal field. He is an accomplished international speaker and chaired portions of the African Ports Evolution Conference in both 2012 and 201
Joel is the Director of Governance, Regulatory and Corporate Affairs for Old Mutual. He is also a member of the Old Mutual Emerging Market Executive Committee.
John heads up the Stakeholder Management within the Santam Group of Companies. His function is to ensure that the Santam Group continues to build appropriate business relationships with material stakeholders in local, provincial and national government to ensure that the business safeguards its reputation, obtains access to new markets, and remain relevant.
Marius is the Office Managing Partner of Deloitte in the Western Cape. He is also responsible for Deloitte Tip-offs Anonymous – the leading whistle blowing and ethics line in Africa. He is an admitted attorney and has been involved in various projects, both in South Africa and abroad, including numerous inspections on behalf of the South African Reserve Bank.

Michael is the Vice-President of BLSA, an Executive Director of Anglo American South Africa, and is on the Board of Rothschild South Africa. Michael is also on the board of Wesgro.
Alistair Pearce is Divisional Director at Nedbank and responsible for the coastal regions of Nedbank’s corporate and investment banking businesses. He has 18 years of banking experience prior to which he was a Partner in an accounting practice.
