Facing its worst drought in a century, Cape Town is in the midst of a severe water crisis.
As the situation stands, the city is likely to reach ‘Day Zero’ by 15 July as a result of increased water usage during the month of January. While the blame game is likely to amplify over the coming weeks, this is something we should all accept responsibility for, as it will ultimately impact all of us negatively if we fail to act decisively.
Over the next few weeks, Accelerate Cape Town together with relevant partners, will be hosting a series of engagements to address the topic of business continuity and sustainability under a ‘Day Zero’ scenario. The series aims to provide stakeholders with practical and implementable water saving solutions in an effort to avoid significant socio-economic devastation.
