Digital Transformation in the Workplace

October 6 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Most business leaders fully appreciate the need for digital transformation (DX) – the process of adopting digital technologies to create new (or modify existing) business processes, culture, and customer experiences in response to changing business and market requirements. However, very few would have predicted the extent to which this requirement has been accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic.

What is the true meaning of digital transformation (DX) and how do we advance it as we acclimatize to the “new normal”? How should organisations – grappling with rapidly changing operating environments – leverage DX as a strategic response to disruption?

In partnership with UCT Graduate School of Business, we’ll be exploring these questions and more in Episode 2 of our “Future of Work” series.

Join us on 6 October for a discussion on digital transformation in the workplace with Dr. Sharron McPherson, adjunct professor at the UCT GSB and Co-founder of the Centre for Disruptive Technologies.

As one of Africa’s leading experts on the impact of technology disruption for emerging market growth and development, future work, and the disruption of education, she is ideally placed to talk us through the true meaning of digital transformation (DX), which is a journey that goes beyond simply advancing technology. She’ll expound on DX as a strategic response to disruption, unpack how DX itself as a response, will continue to evolve, and how the very notion of “workplace” will evolve, in part, as a response to DX.
