Young Leaders Dinner with Zyda Rylands

Our Young Leaders Dinner Programme was launched in 2015 to provide a platform for dynamic business conversations of young professionals in Cape Town, and to understand issues impacting on transformation in the work place. The Young Leaders Dinners are specifically for our Sponsor members and are exclusive dinners for networking and debate.  The guest speaker at our next dinner is Zyda Rylands.

Zyda is the CEO of Woolworths SA. She was recruited by Woolworths in 1995 as an audit manager and after 18 months was appointed as EA to the Woolworths MD. After that, she headed up financial accounting and corporate planning, played a role as financial executive for all Woolworths stores and headed up the commercial division. In 2006, Zyda was appointed to the Woolworths Holdings Board as Director of People and Transformation. She was appointed as the MD of Foods in 2010 and to her current role in 2015. Zyda serves as a non-executive director of the National Urban Reconstruction and Housing Agency, the Consumer Goods Forum of South Africa and is a member of the Coca Cola Retail Council. She is a recipient of the Impumelelo/Black Management Forum’s Top 10 Black Business Personalities Award and was named SA’s Most Influential Women in Business and Government in the Consumer Business, Wholesale and Retail Sector in 2012 by CEO Magazine. Her greatest passions are people, leadership development and transformation in corporate South Africa.
