Introducing our new CEO, Ryan Ravens

Ryan RavensWe are pleased to announce the appointment of our new CEO, Ryan Ravens, effective 1 September 2015.

Ryan has extensive experience in leadership positions in the public and private sectors having joined Accelerate Cape Town from his role as CEO of consulting company, TetraPlex. Investments of TetraPlex include R-Squared Project Advisory (Pty) Ltd, a project lifecycle consultancy; ProjectCloud (Pty) Ltd, an ICT startup focused on developing web-based collaborative project management platforms; and Solar Box (Pty) Ltd, innovative alternative energy solutions for sub-Saharan Africa.

Prior to his role at TetraPlex, Ryan was the Group Executive: Strategic Partnerships at Blue IQ Investment Holdings (now known as the Gauteng Growth and Development Agency). This role included the development and implementation of the Gauteng Investment Centre, a ‘one-stop-shop’ designed to facilitate foreign investment. He was also the lead Project Manager for FIFA for the 2010 World Cup.

Ryan describes himself as having ‘an intense entrepreneurial spirit’ and owned a management consultancy specialising in public sector interventions and entrepreneurial support. Ryan, who was born in Cape Town, is a graduate of the University of Cape Town and has a Master of Business Administration degree from the UCT GSB.

Gavin Tipper, Accelerate Cape Town’s Chairman commented: ‘Ryan is a natural collaborator which, together with his commercial experience and entrepreneurial spirit, ideally positions him to take our organisation forward at this pivotal time. We look forward to working with him as he helps catalyse the inclusive growth that is so critical to our region’s future.’
