The City of Cape Town has recently restructured following the adoption of the Organisational Development and Transformation Plan (ODTP) as a key strategy to reverse the legacy of apartheid spatial planning, modernise government, improve service delivery and become more customer-centric. One of the key strategies within the ODTP is the Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) Strategic Framework (nominated for a C40 Cities Award) which is the City’s long-term development strategy aimed at assessing land use and development in conjunction with transport to balance travel patterns across the city and unlock economic development. The Enterprise and Investment team at the City has also launched Invest Cape Town to promote Cape Town as, not only a tourism destination, but a great place to do business and have many other exciting projects on the go.
Join us as we hear from Zukiswa Mandlana, Director: Organisational Effectiveness and Innovation in the Directorate of the Mayor, about the new strategic direction of the City; Cllr Brett Herron, Mayoral Committee Member for Transport and Urban Development, about the new Transport and Urban Development Authority (TDA) and the developments they are planning; and Lance Greyling, Director of Trade and Investment in the Mayor’s Office, about their investment projects and how business can get involved.
